It's winter time in Canberra and it's freezing as usual! However that hasn't stopped me from going out on shoots photographing cute pups around Canberra. Because Canberra is inland it does get quite cold and windy here and we've had some cold days already and we're only just half way through winter... we still have around 2 months left.
It's fun to see how the nature changes as the season changes.... From the beautiful red, orange and yellow colours of autumns, bare trees in winter and flowers blossoming in Spring. Usually it's hard to find a nice place to shoot in Winter as it is so bare but Canberra has stunning views and great locations to photograph your dogs at. My favourite place is the Yarralumla English Garden. In the last 2 weeks, there are still some flowers blossoming and I was able to capture some cute doggos with the flowers. There's also a nice lavender bush.
Kobe was such a great dog and posed for me in the bushes with the flowers. Now I'm not very good with flower types and names so I can't really tell you what flowers these are but aren't they gorgeous?
There were also these beautiful yellow flowers which brightens up the photos during winter shoots.
And I got cute Napoleon to pose for me in between the leaves and the flower. Doesn't it look like he's wearing a flower between his ears?
Around the corner from these yellow flowers there's also a nice lavender bush. I love coming here as I can smell the lavender and it's so calming.
Now, there was one strange thing I discovered this winter when I was shooting at Patrick White Lawns near Lake Burley Griffin. The bushes were all so bare except for one spot where there were cherry blossoms blooming, right in the middle of winter... I was so surprised and I just had to take a photo with Chai the Cavoodle. Usually the cherry blossoms don't come out in winter - maybe at the end of winter and early spring which is end of August to. early September. Have you seen anything like this?
Have you seen any flowers blossoming around Canberra in winter time? Let me know coz I would love to check it out.
