Capturing dogs in action is one of the most challenging aspects of pet photography. It takes skill and patience to get the perfect shot of a dog in full stride
I love capturing dogs in action and it's one of shots I always try to include in every session. Of course, there are some sessions where I may not be able to capture action shots. For example if it is a session with an elderly dog, or if your dog just isn't a dog that loves to run.
But for dogs that do love to run, it can be so much fun to work with them. It's all about being patient and waiting for the perfect moment when they are in full stride, moving quickly and looking their best.
Now one of the main concerns I usually get from prospective clients about action photos is that their dog isn't great off leash. You don't need to worry about this. Most dogs I photograph are on leash, and I can still get some fantastic shots. You can check out this blog post to see a before and after shot of a cute cavoodle running.
Overall, capturing dogs in action is an incredibly rewarding experience and I love capturing all of their energy and excitement in the shot. There's just something special about seeing dogs at their most playful, energetic, and full of life. And to be able to capture that on camera is truly an honour!
I take pride in capturing dogs at their best, whether they're playing fetch or just being themselves. If you're looking for action photos of your beloved pet, I'd love to hear from you! You can come in for a chat by booking in a complimentary planning appointment to see if I'm the right pet photographer for you.

Jessica - I love every one of these and how you captured the most playfully adorable ear flops as they each ran about. Adorable!
