Last week, I went on an adventure to one of my favourite locations in Australia: Bright, Victoria. If you have never been here, imagine charming alleys lined with colourful trees, gorgeous mountains in the background, and a sense of tranquilly filling the air. It's the kind of place that demands to be photographed.
Now you might be asking why I love visiting Bright. Well, it's a pet photographer's dream come true! Last year, I visited this delightful town for the first time after hearing so many great things about it and fell in love with its scenic beauty.
But this time, my vacation had a little twist as it was a bit of a working holiday trip. I'm excited to announce that I'm in the early stages of preparing a pet photographer's retreat/getaway in Bright next year, which will take place during the beautiful autumn season. So, with my camera in hand, I headed out to explore Bright and surrounding area's charming nooks and crannies in pursuit of the ideal locations for our photo sessions.
I managed to find a variety of dogs to photograph there, and they were just adorable!! Django and Bazil, the Dalmatians are very well trained and great model. I also had Sylvie and Pie, the field spaniels who are just adorable. Especially, Sylvie who was only 15 weeks old. Then I did a photo session with gorgeous Kiana, a 10 year old Malamute. She is actually my Airbnb host's daughter's dog. Side note: my Airbnb host was so wonderful and spoilt me by cooking me amazing homemade meals during my stay there. Lastly I got to photograph Maggie, who is a Staffy x Koolie. She had so much energy and was lots of fun to photograph.
Perhaps one of the most memorable parts of my trip was flying to the sky with my trusty drone to snap some magnificent aerial images of the line of trees with the sunning changing leaves at Buckland Valley. There's something quite spectacular about seeing the world from above, and it offered me a completely different perspective on this lovely area of Victoria.
So there you have it—my trip to Bright, Victoria. While the details of next year's retreat/workshop are still being finalised, one thing is certain: this area has stolen a piece of my heart, and I can't wait to share its beauty with my fellow pet photographers.
Stay tuned for updates, and in the meantime, enjoy these photographs I took while in Bright.
