It’s something I hear from my clients all the time and it's something I have experienced myself. We love and adore our pets, we live for the daily cuddles from them, the way they make us laugh, the long walks, the quiet moments where they cuddle up to you, but somewhere deep down, there’s this ache. Life gets busy, and before you know it, your bouncy pup is starting to slow down.Their face changes, you can see some more whites and greys on their muzzle. And it's something I hate to think about, because all I want is for them to be here with me forever, for as long as I live.
Most of us have a smartphone these days and our camera roll is full of photos of our dogs (don't lie! I know you have tons of photos of them :P). Photos of them lounging with you, their cute smile looking up at you, zoomies, cute head-tilts, that time they stole your sandwich. They’re fun, and they capture them in the every day moments and they matter a lot—but they’re easy to lose in the noise. And when I ask why my clients want a professional pet photography session, the answer is rarely just about "getting nice photos”. It’s more than that.
It’s “I want to remember the way they look at me with complete trust.”
It’s “I want something I can see on the wall every day—a piece of them that stays with me.”
It’s “I want to remember this exact moment in time, because I know it won’t last forever.”
Dogs live in the moment. That’s part of what makes them such magical companions. But as their humans, we often realise—sometimes too late—that we wish we had something more tangible to hold onto from those moments.
The good news is: you haven’t missed your chance. Whether your dog is young, getting older, or somewhere in between, now is the perfect time. There’s always something worth remembering about who they are right now..
A pet photography session with me isn't about perfection. It's not about capturing when your dog is a bit more well behaved or well trained. It's not about getting them to sit still or getting the perfect pose. it's about letting them be themselves, expressing their personality. It's supposed to be fun, playful, relaxed and stress free, and most of all a meaningful experience for you and your dog. Together, we’ll create beautiful portraits that doesn’t just show what your dog looks like—it shows who they are, and how much they mean to you.
If you’ve been thinking about it, take this as your sign. Let’s press pause on the chaos of life for just a moment. Let’s celebrate the love you share and create something real—something you’ll be grateful for every day.
So if you’ve been feeling like time is moving a bit too fast, or like you’ve missed your chance, just know you haven’t. The good stuff is still happening. Right now. And it’s worth remembering.
If this hit close to home, if you’ve been meaning to capture your dog just as they are right now, don’t put it off any longer. Let’s create something real and meaningful together. A session that’s relaxed, fun, and all about your dog being themselves.
