HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM INA, JAMES, PIPPA AND ROSIE
Wow! I can't believe it's that time of the year already! It's Christmas Eve when this blog post is up.
Like most people, I am working really hard this week so I can actually take a little bit of a break during Christmas this year (unlike last year when I worked through it) without stressing out like crazy about being away from my desk. (If that’s you…I want to send some love and light your way. *hugs*)
Anyway, 2021 has been a pinnacle year here at Ina J Photography despite the uncertainty and challenges that we've gone through this year due to COVID-19.
Back in January, there was a big demand for the Tails of Canberra book project and registrations went within a few days. Although I was aiming to get the book out before Christmas due to some unforeseen circumstances I am running behind. However I am hoping to get it out early next year in January and February. Plus you can pre-order the book now on my website.
In April, we had another success for our annual Canberra Paws Calendar Contest and although we didn't reach our goal of $15,000, we raised $12,400. We've sold just over 100 calendars and there's still some in stock so if you're interested you can purchase your copy of the Canberra Paws 2022 calendar here.
This year, I entered the International Pet Photographer of the Year awards and I was so happy that I got shortlisted in the Top 25 of the Action category and the Top 100 in the Portrait Category. Below are the two images that got shortlisted. I am so proud of this achievement and I am going to continue to keep growing.
Honestly, it’s been awesome and hard at the same time. I started doing pet photography just over 2 years ago and I'm so grateful to be where I am in my business now. Covid has definitely created some challenges with us being in lockdown for 2 months this year but there has been some great times and successes along the way. I am also so grateful for the pets and people I've met this year and the connections I made along the way.
So from the bottom of my heart I would love to thank you for your support (no matter where you are in the world).
Next year my goal is to pursue my business full time (as some of you may know I am still working another job a few days a week). I am hoping that I'll be to achieve this goal by mid next year. I love what I do and being able to create beautiful memories and keepsake on the walls of Canberra households just makes me so happy.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, a Happy New Year and a safe holiday with your family both human and furry ones. Wishing you a pawsome 2022 and hope that it's a better year and amazing year.
PS. It's not too late to buy a pet photography gift certificate for your loved ones - my Christmas special is still available till end of the year and you can purchase them here.

Tracy Allard - I feel like you were speaking directly to me; despite my best efforts to not be, I was "that person" this year, chained to the desk, editing, ordering and then running the roads making deliveries right up to Christmas Eve - I'm glad you had a restful holiday and good luck finishing the book!
