If you're like me, you're probably more comfortable being behind the camera and taking photos of your dogs or pets and don't really like getting photos taken of you. And yes, while I totally agree with you, I still do it. Even though I don't like being in front of the camera and getting photos taken, I still do it. Especially ones with my dogs.
Why do you ask?
I believe it's important to document these memories in our life. Our dogs especially don't live as long as we do and we treasure the time they are in our life. Capturing photographs of them preserves these memories for life. Plus I also love to capture these memories showing our love, bond and connection with our dogs. This is one of the reasons why I became a pet photographer.
Yes, you're probably thinking, "I don't feel comfortable being in photos or being in front of the camera". That's fine. I am here to help you feel more comfortable and if you still don't feel comfortable that's okay too. I think it's ok to feel uncomfortable in the moment but when you see the photos you will be glad that you flight through those uncomfortable moments and end up with beautiful memories of you and your dog. I can also take the photographs in a way where you're not exactly in the photos, for example, we can capture your dog sitting by your legs so all the focus is on your dog. Or you can be sitting in the background with your dog sitting in front of you and the focus will be on your dog. There's lots of ways to capture photos of you and your dog without having you being the centre of attention and making it your dog the main focus in the photograph.
Photographing the bond, love and connection between dogs and their owners is just so special. It shows that your dog loves you no matter what and my aim is to capture this and show you this in your photos.
I think that this year's resolution for everyone is to make sure you get photos with your dogs and showcase it on a beautiful wall art on the wall or a keepsake album along with other beautiful photos of your dog. You'll be grateful that you did it.
